We are building the opening team for our client’s new Indian restaurant in Bucharest and are looking for a Skilled Steward (Dishwasher) with at least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen. This is a full-time, long-term role with accommodation and complete visa support.

Your Responsibilities
As a Steward, you play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth functioning of the kitchen. Your daily tasks include:
1. Dishwashing & Sanitization
-
Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools

Safely use dishwashing machines and manual washing techniques
-
Handle cleaning chemicals responsibly and follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) rules
-
Ensure all washed items are completely clean, free of grease, and safe for use
2. Kitchen Cleanliness & Hygiene
-
Keep sinks, floors, workstations, bins, and dishwashing areas spotless and dry
-
Regularly clean surfaces, shelves, and kitchen equipment to maintain HACCP standards
-
Follow hygiene checklists and daily/weekly cleaning schedules
-
Report any maintenance issues (leaks, broken equipment, etc.) to the supervisor
3. Drying, Polishing & Storage
-
Correctly dry and polish plates, glasses, cutlery, and cookware
-
Store items in the right place using FIFO (First In, First Out) and follow labeling rules
-
Ensure items are neatly arranged for easy access during service
4. Waste Management
-
Collect and dispose of kitchen waste safely
-
Separate dry waste, wet waste, and recycling
-
Keep garbage bins clean, sealed, and emptied as per schedule
5. Basic Food Prep Assistance
(Only simple tasks, depending on kitchen load)

Wash and peel vegetables

Assist with portioning (e.g., packing ingredients, counting items)

Support chefs during busy periods
6. Teamwork & Reliability

Work closely with chefs, helpers, and supervisors

Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude

Show punctuality, discipline, and respect for kitchen safety
Requirements
-
Minimum 1 year experience as a Steward / Dishwasher in a restaurant or hotel kitchen
-
Basic English to understand instructions

Physically fit and comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, hygiene, and basic kitchen workflow
-
Willing to relocate to Bucharest and commit to long-term employment
